The Gehmann 570-579 combines a rear-sight iris, six-colour filter wheel and a 1.5x correcting lens with Gehmann's 579 cylindrical lens system built into one M9.5x1-threaded unit, for target rifle shooters. The iris aperture is continuously adjustable from 0.5mm to 3.0mm, with a locking collar that holds the V-mark exactly where it's set. Six optically flat glass filters — yellow, light green, orange, purple, dark grey and light grey — rotate into position to suit changing light on the range. The 1.5x dioptre lens gives -4.5 to +4.5 correction, so the sight can be set to the shooter's own eyesight rather than relying on separate spectacles. Built into the same unit is Gehmann's cylindrical lens system, which corrects astigmatism: axis is set against markings from 0-180° and locked with three Allen screws, while sphere is adjusted independently. All external and internal surfaces carry a matt finish to minimise glare, with laser-engraved markings for repeatable settings. The optics unscrew from the iris body, so the 577-thread adapter can be fitted in their place for a plain iris-only setup. Supplied with Gehmann's instruction manual.
