Parker-Hale's .270 pistol barrel cleaning rod is a one-piece rod for handgun maintenance across the larger calibre range, .270 up to .45, marked out by the black handle Parker-Hale uses at this end of the line-up. Like the rest of the range it's an acetate-covered rod over a steel core with brass fittings, so the bore is protected from the scoring a bare rod can cause, and the handle turns freely on ball bearings so a brush, mop or jag follows the rifling instead of fighting it. This rod carries a female American thread in place of Parker-Hale's own UK fitting, which means it takes US-pattern cleaning attachments - jags, brushes and mops from brands such as Dewey, Hoppe's, Pro-Shot, Tetra and Tipton - directly, with no adapter required. Overall length is around 11.4in (289mm) and the rod weighs approximately 114g, a little heavier than the small-calibre version to suit the larger bore sizes it's built for. Made in the UK by Parker-Hale, long established as a supplier of gun-cleaning equipment to British shooters. Pair with a calibre-correct brush or jag before use.
