Bore Tech's Bolt Action Wiper is a pre-shaped rubber wiper built to clean out the locking lug recess and action of a three-lug centrefire bolt-action rifle — the corner of the action that collects brass shavings, powder residue, bolt lug grease and old solvent, and that a standard bore brush or rod simply can't reach. Moulded from solvent-resistant rubber around a Proof Positive alloy core with a male 8/32 thread, it screws straight onto a non-rotating cleaning rod. Spike a patch onto the wiper tip, dampen it with a carbon remover such as Bore Tech's own C4, and work it into the lug recess — the wiper flexes to follow the action walls, wiping out debris that dental rolls and loose felt discs leave behind. This 3-Lug Wiper is shaped for most popular three-lug centrefire bolt actions and can be trimmed to size using Bore Tech's paper-template method for an exact fit to your own bolt head. A 2½ inch round patch is the recommended size. Regular use keeps the bolt running smoothly and cuts down on wear at the lugs and action face — a five-minute job that's easy to skip and worth doing properly.
