Bore Tech's V-Stix Pistol Rod is a one-piece coated cleaning rod built for handgun bores from .22 rimfire up to .45 calibre, offered as a lower-cost alternative to Bore Tech's own Proof-Positive Bore Stix. This is the longer 9in version, sized for pistol and revolver barrels rather than a rifle-length barrel: working length is 9in measured on the rod only, excluding the handle, giving an overall length of around 14.5in once the handle is fitted — a little extra reach over the shorter 6.5in rod in the same range. It has a black, colour-coded, free-floating ball-bearing handle that rotates independently of the rod, so a jag or brush follows the rifling instead of twisting the handle in your hand. The rod core is enhanced steel, .195in in diameter, wrapped in Bore Tech's high-performance coating for chemical resistance and rigidity, keeping bow and flex to a minimum along its length. A replaceable, barrel-safe brass tip with an 8/32 female thread takes standard jags, mops and brushes with no separate adapter, and won't mark the muzzle crown the way a steel tip can. Bore Tech recommend using a muzzle guard to protect both rod and firearm while cleaning.
