Bore Tech's V-Stix is a one-piece coated cleaning rod for rifles chambered from .270 calibre upward, sold as a lower-cost alternative to Bore Tech's own Proof-Positive Bore Stix. This 36in version has a 36in working length (measured on the rod only, excluding the handle, so overall length with the handle fitted comes to roughly 41.5in) and a red, colour-coded, free-floating ball-bearing handle that rotates independently of the rod so a brush or jag follows the rifling instead of twisting in your hand. The rod itself is an enhanced steel core, .227in in diameter, wrapped in Bore Tech's high-performance coating, which is chemically resistant and keeps the rod rigid with minimal bow or flex down the length of a rifle barrel. A replaceable, barrel-safe brass tip with an 8/32 female thread accepts standard jags, mops and brushes with no separate adapter needed, and being brass rather than steel it won't mark or wear the crown. Bore Tech recommend cleaning through a bore guide or muzzle guard to protect both the rifling and the rod's coating. A straightforward, well-made rifle cleaning rod for regular bench or field maintenance.
