The BushWear Large Chest Spreader is a purpose-built stainless steel tool for field dressing and butchering deer and other large game. Designed specifically for UK deer species, it holds the chest cavity open during gralloching and butchering, giving you clean, unobstructed access to the internal cavity without needing a second pair of hands. The sprung, camouflage-wrapped arms are strengthened with twists along their length, providing ample rigidity to hold the ribcage apart even on larger animals such as red or fallow deer. With an inner V-to-V spread of approximately 19 cm and an overall end-to-end length of around 25 cm, this large size offers the clearance needed for the bigger UK species. Once the deer is in the larder, leave the spreader in place to promote air circulation and help the carcass cool quickly and evenly.
