This Contessa steel Picatinny rail fits the Sako 75 and Sako 85 short action, giving a solid 0 MOA Picatinny platform for scope rings and one-piece mounts. Made by Contessa Alessandro & C. of Italy, it is a two-base system: independent front and rear bases slide onto the Sako tapered dovetails and are locked to the action with vertical screws, then the 150mm rail is screwed down onto the bases. Because the rail's fitting position is adjustable, it suits any Sako 75/85 short action whose bases sit between 66mm and 90mm apart - useful given how much dovetail spacing and width can vary between individual Sako 75 rifles. Base height is 12.5mm and the complete assembly weighs 165g. Seat the bases fully on the dovetails (a firm tap with a plastic mallet helps), and a thread-locking compound on the rail screws will stop them working loose under recoil; on some Sako 75 rifles the bases may need light hand fitting to slide fully home. Please check the action size and base spacing on your rifle before ordering. Supplied with the steel rail, front base, rear base, three wrenches and all fitting screws.
