- .410 bore (36 gauge), 50mm (2-inch) case length — suits classic chambered guns
- 8g payload of fine No.9 shot for dense close-range patterns
- Fibre wad — biodegradable and suitable for environmentally sensitive shoots
- Vectan double-base flake powder: low-pressure, clean burn
- Safe choice for older .410s with 2-inch chambers — do not use in 2½- or 3-inch only guns
- Ideal for close-range quarry, pest work or novice shooters
Express .410 bore cartridges in the 50mm (2-inch) case, loaded with 8g of No.9 shot over a fibre wad. The 2-inch .410 shell is the shortest in the Express .410 range and was developed with classic English guns in mind — many older side-by-side .410s are chambered specifically for this length, and attempting to fire longer cartridges in them is unsafe. At 8g of No.9 shot, this is a fine-pattern, short-range load well suited to close-range quarry, pest control or as a beginners' cartridge where recoil is a consideration. No.9 is the finest common shot size in the .410 armoury, delivering a dense cloud at close range. The fibre wad is appropriate for shoots and reserves where plastic debris is unwanted. As with all Express .410 loads, the propellant is Vectan double-base flake powder from the Nobel Sport Group in France, which burns cleanly at low pressures — a significant advantage in the .410 bore where chamber pressure management is critical.
