The H&N Slug HP is a hollow-point lead slug designed specifically for high-power PCP air rifles, setting a new benchmark for long-range accuracy in the .25 calibre. Unlike conventional diabolo pellets, its bullet-shaped profile delivers a highly favourable ballistic coefficient, producing a flat trajectory and excellent energy retention well beyond 50 metres. The hollow-point cavity promotes reliable expansion on impact, making these slugs well suited to hunting and pest control at extended ranges. Head diameter is .249 inches (6.34 mm) within the .25 / 6.35 mm calibre family, with a projectile weight of 34 grains. A special lubricant coating reduces barrel friction and protects the bore. To get the best from these slugs, a muzzle energy of at least 25 Joules is required, with 40–60 Joules recommended for consistent results; barrels with a shorter twist rate made specifically for slugs will produce significantly better groups. Every slug is visually inspected, hand packed, and secured for transport with foam pads in the standard H&N screw-on tin of 120.
