The HWS® — Härkila Weather System — membrane delivers waterproofing rated to a 20,000mm water column pressure, placing it firmly in the serious end of hunting waterproofing rather than the shower-resistant territory occupied by DWR-only garments. It is windproof and breathable throughout, with a mesh lining that wicks moisture away from the body during periods of exertion, and a PFAS-free construction throughout — both the membrane and the DWR outer treatment are free from harmful fluorinated chemicals, offering full weather protection without the environmental compromise of traditional fluorocarbon waterproofing.

The brushed tricot outer fabric is the other key story. Brushed surfaces are significantly quieter than smooth synthetics when moving through vegetation, against jacket layers or when raising a firearm — a detail that matters enormously in stalking and driven shooting where fabric noise at the wrong moment can cost you a shot.
