The Hawke Vantage IR 3-9x40 Straight-Wall is a purpose-built riflescope for straight-wall cartridge rifles — including calibres such as 350 Legend, 360 Buckhammer, 400 Legend, 450 Bushmaster and .45-70 Gov't. The name 'straight-wall' refers to both the cartridge type and the scope's straight (no-bell) tube profile, which suits low-mount setups and provides a clean, uncluttered sightline. Hawke's H2 optical system with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses delivers bright, clear images at the 3–9× power range suited to the short-to-medium distances where straight-wall ammunition is most effective. The precision glass-etched reticle is illuminated in red and green with five brightness levels via a saddle-mounted rheostat, giving a sharp aiming point in woodland or low-light conditions. Capped low-profile turrets adjust in 1/4 MOA increments and sit flush with the body to avoid snagging in the field. The 1-inch mono-tube chassis is nitrogen-purged and sealed against water and fog, keeping the optic reliable across the seasons.
