The Hornady .321" 170 grain InterLock® Flat Point is a traditional component hunting bullet for handloaders loading .32-20 Winchester and similar .321" bore lever-gun cartridges. The flat point profile is the time-honoured choice for tubular magazines, where pointed projectiles create a risk of primer detonation under recoil. Hornady's InterLock® ring — a raised band inside the jacket that is embedded in the one-piece lead core — mechanically locks core and jacket together during expansion, retaining mass and delivering deep, consistent penetration on game. Inner groove serrations in the upper jacket section weaken it in a controlled manner for predictable expansion, while the tapered jacket ensures the bullet opens at both low and high velocities. The one-piece core does not separate as divided two-piece cores can, resulting in reliable wound channels and quick, clean kills on medium game. A cannelure provides accurate, consistent crimping and works in concert with the InterLock ring to keep everything together. Sold as component bullets for reloading — no FAC required in the UK.
