The Hornady Custom Grade Full-Length Size Die for 5.45x39 (.221) resizes fired brass back to SAAMI minimum dimensions, ensuring reliable chambering in your rifle. At the heart of the die is Hornady's Elliptical Expander, which outperforms conventional ball expanders by providing smooth neck sizing with significantly reduced friction and case neck stretch — internal threading holds it securely in place and eliminates the need for a separate expander die when necking up to a larger calibre. The expander and headed decap pin are mated to the Zip Spindle, a Custom Grade exclusive that positively locks to prevent slippage. Light threads on both spindle and spindle lock allow precise incremental adjustments, or you can zip it up and down quickly for coarser movement. The precision-machined and polished internal profile prevents case sticking and excessive friction throughout the stroke. The included Sure-Loc lock ring clamps around the entire die body for constant, even pressure; the locking screw bears on the die body rather than the threads, and integrated wrench flats make removal straightforward.
