The Hornady Outfitter .308 Winchester 150gr CX is a purpose-built hunting load designed to perform reliably in demanding field conditions. The CX (Copper Alloy eXpanding) bullet is a monolithic copper-alloy construction with a polymer tip that initiates uniform, controlled expansion on impact, delivering deep penetration and over 95% weight retention — qualities that matter when the shot must count on deer, boar or larger game. Cases are nickel-plated brass with sealed primer pockets and case mouths, providing watertight protection against moisture in wet woodland or hill country. At the muzzle, the 150-grain projectile leaves at 2,800 fps, generating 2,611 ft-lbs of energy. The ballistic coefficient of .418 (G1) maintains that energy efficiently over range. Lead-free construction makes this load suitable for use in areas where non-traditional bullets are required. Supplied in a box of 20 rounds and compatible with standard .308 Winchester / 7.62×51mm chambers.
