The Hornady Lock-N-Load 6PPC Sako Modified Case is a chambering-specific accessory for use with the Hornady Lock-N-Load OAL (Overall Length) Gauge, sold separately. It is a once-fired 6PPC Sako case that has been drilled and threaded at the base to screw onto the OAL Gauge body. The reloader inserts a bullet of their choice into the open neck, then carefully chambers the assembly in their rifle to determine the precise cartridge overall length at which the bullet contacts the rifling lands. This measurement is the starting point for dialling in optimum seating depth — particularly valuable in the 6PPC Sako, a benchrest cartridge renowned for its accuracy potential. Manufactured to SAAMI specifications, it fits standard 6PPC Sako chambers. The modified case is an inert, reusable measuring accessory — it is not a loaded round, is not intended for firing, and does not require a firearms certificate.
