The Hornady Shell Plate #11 is a precision-machined rotating plate designed for use with the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP progressive press and the Hornady Projector press. It sits at the heart of the press and holds cartridge cases securely as they index through each reloading station — from sizing and priming through to powder charging, bullet seating and crimping. Hornady machines a subtle radius on each shell holder mouth to ensure cases feed smoothly and eject cleanly, station after station. The spring-loaded case retainer is engineered to stay in position when you insert cases, keeping the plate loaded consistently during high-volume reloading sessions. A single shell plate can typically be used across multiple cartridge calibres that share the same case-head diameter, so it is worth consulting Hornady's shell plate selection chart to confirm which calibres Plate #11 covers before ordering.
