The Hornady Shell Plate #14 is machined for use with the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP progressive press and the Hornady Projector press. The rotating plate holds cartridge cases as they move through each station of the press, from full-length sizing and primer seating through to powder drop, bullet seating and final crimp. Hornady engineers a subtle radius on every shell holder mouth to guide cases in and out cleanly, preventing the case-head nicks and misfeed that disrupt a run. The spring-loaded retainer keeps cases seated in the plate during insertion, so the plate stays fully loaded without cases dropping as you work. Shell Plate #14 is sized for the case-head diameter shared by a specific group of calibres — use Hornady's shell plate selection chart to confirm which cartridges it covers before ordering, as a single plate number typically fits several calibres sharing the same rim and case-head dimensions. Custom plates can be ordered from Hornady for less common chamberings. Sold individually as a spare or additional plate.
