The Hornady Shell Plate #19 is a precision-machined rotating plate for the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP progressive press and the Hornady Projector press. It sits on the press ram and indexes cartridge cases through each station in the reloading cycle — from full-length sizing and primer pocket cleaning through to powder charging, bullet seating and crimping — keeping every case correctly positioned at each tool head. Hornady puts a subtle radius on each shell holder mouth to ensure that cases enter the plate cleanly and eject without binding or case-head damage, which is important when running high volumes through a progressive set-up. The spring-loaded case retainer stays in place when cases are inserted, making the loading motion quick and consistent. Plate #19 is cut to the case-head diameter shared by a specific group of calibres — consult Hornady's shell plate selection chart to confirm which cartridges this plate covers before ordering.
