The Morakniv Companion (S) is the all-round fixed blade most people reach for first. The 104 mm blade is Swedish stainless steel from Alleima (12C27), 2.5 mm thick and profile-ground to a Scandi edge at 56.5 HRC, so it takes an edge quickly in the field and holds it through a day's work — food preparation, trimming cordage, feather sticks or general camp jobs. The moulded polymer handle carries a patterned TPE rubber friction surface and a substantial finger guard, which keeps the grip secure in wet or cold hands. This version runs in hi-vis orange throughout, which is worth having on a knife you put down in heather, leaf litter or long grass. A polypropene sheath with a belt clip is supplied. At 219 mm overall and 118 g it carries easily on a belt or in a pack. Developed and made in Mora, Sweden.
