The Morakniv Companion MG Carbon is a versatile fixed-blade outdoor knife built around a 104 mm high carbon steel blade with a Scandinavian grind — a flat, shallow bevel that produces an exceptionally sharp edge that is straightforward to maintain in the field. Manufactured in Sweden, the blade is 2 mm thick and finished to a satin sheen, offering a keen cutting edge suited to bushcraft tasks, hunting preparation, and general outdoor use. The handle combines a moulded polymer frame with a patterned high-friction rubber grip in a distinctive military green and black colour scheme, providing a secure hold even in wet conditions. A finger guard adds a further layer of control during heavier cutting work. At 217 mm overall and 110 g, the knife carries easily on the hip in the included polymer belt sheath. Carbon steel does demand a little upkeep — wipe the blade dry and apply a light coat of oil after use to prevent rust — but rewards that attention with outstanding sharpness and ease of re-sharpening compared with many stainless options.
