The Morakniv Erik Frost 122 LC is a dedicated woodcarving knife built for chip carving and fine detailing. Its compact 62 mm blade is made from French laminated carbon steel (100CR6) — a hard carbon steel core surrounded by softer steel — heat-treated to 58.5 HRC for long-lasting sharpness and the toughness to handle lateral pressure without chipping. The blade runs a Scandi Zero grind at 26–28°, giving a clean, easy-to-resharpen edge that bites into wood with precision. At just 2.7 mm thick with a narrow, pointed profile and a straight edge positioned along the flat side, the blade excels at chip carving — cutting decorative patterns, notches and fine details into wood. The full rat-tail tang adds backbone through the barrel-shaped oiled birch handle, which sits naturally in the hand during extended carving sessions. Weighing 64.3 g, it is light enough for detailed close work without fatigue. Assembled by hand in Mora, Sweden, it comes supplied with a black polypropylene sheath. The LC designation confirms the laminated carbon steel construction.
