These Bisley purse nets are the traditional rabbiter's tool, supplied here as a pack of 10 ready for a day's ferreting. Each net is made from 4Z nylon, a rot-proof twisted cord that shrugs off damp and mud, so there is no need to dry them out after every outing the way the old hemp nets demanded. You peg a net over each bolt-hole on a warren, facing against the line a rabbit will run, then send the ferret down to do its work; a bolting rabbit hits the net, the drawstring purses shut around it and the catch is held cleanly and humanely. Every net measures 1 metre and runs on a rust-resistant metal ring with a strong cord, which keeps the mesh tangle-free in the bag and quick to set in the field. Nylon stands up to repeated seasons of hard use far better than natural fibre, and a pack of 10 gives you enough to cover a decent stretch of burrow at once.
