The Prandi Calabro Type hatchet head is a 500g (1.15 lb) replacement head sold without a handle, forged from C45/1045 carbon steel with a polished and hardened blade. Prandi has been producing forestry and outdoor cutting tools in Italy for generations, and this head follows the same proven pattern: a traditional Calabro-pattern profile that suits general chopping, camp craft, and woodland work. At 500g it strikes a practical balance between swing weight and control, making it equally suited to re-handling a worn or damaged hatchet or fitting a custom shaft to your preferred length. The head accepts a standard oval-eye handle and can be fitted to ash, hickory, or beech. Carbon steel at this specification holds a working edge well and is straightforward to sharpen in the field with a simple file or whetstone. Supplied bare — handle not included.
