The Pulsar Axion Compact XG30 is a compact thermal imaging monocular built around a highly sensitive 640×480, 12µm detector paired with a 30mm f/1.2 objective lens. Its wide 14.6° field of view makes it well suited to scanning open ground, woodland rides, and field edges — opening up the search area and reducing the fatigue that comes with prolonged observation. Detection range reaches 1300m, with 2.0–16.0× digital magnification giving the flexibility to close in on an identified heat source. The magnesium alloy body is rated to IPX7, so it handles everything from heavy rain and dense fog to brief submersion, while a rubberised grip strip aids handling in wet conditions. An internal 64GB memory stores video (MP4) and stills (.JPG), and Wi-Fi connectivity links to Pulsar's Stream Vision 2 app on Android or iOS for remote control, image sharing, and firmware updates. The removable APS3 rechargeable battery provides up to seven hours of use, with the option to carry a spare for all-day fieldwork. Eight selectable colour palettes — including White Hot, Black Hot, Rainbow, and Red Monochrome — allow the display to be tailored to the task at hand. A stadiametric rangefinder is built in. Weighing just 310g, the XG30 carries without burden in a jacket pocket or chest rig.
