Nosler's Varmageddon line was designed specifically for high-volume varmint shooters who want rapid, violent fragmentation rather than deep penetration. This .17 calibre (.172in) 20-grain flat-base hollow-point version pairs a lead-alloy core with a copper-alloy jacket engineered to survive high launch velocities yet expand instantly on contact. The flat-base design and a gradual thickening at the bullet's midsection hold the jacket together right up to the moment of impact, while the ultra-thin jacket mouth at the hollow-point tip delivers hard-hitting, explosive expansion across a wide range of impact velocities. At just 20 grains with a ballistic coefficient of 0.119 and sectional density of 0.097, this is a dedicated fox and vermin-control bullet rather than a big-game projectile, built for flat trajectories and devastating terminal effect at typical varmint-rifle ranges. Nosler offers Varmageddon across seven popular calibres for handloaders who want consistent, accurate performance without the cost of polymer-tipped options. Supplied as 100 unprimed component bullets for handloading — this is not loaded ammunition.
