The Woolpower Socks Knee-High Protection 400 are heavy-duty merino socks built for people working outdoors in the cold, where flame resistance and antistatic properties are not optional. They are knitted in Ullfrotte Original 400 g/m2 - a terry construction that runs the full length of the foot and shaft, so the loops trap air against the leg and hold warmth right up to the knee. The blend is 60% merino wool, 26% aramid, 12% polyamide and 2% elastane, which is what gives them their certification to EN ISO 14116:2015 Index 3 for flame protection and EN 1149-5:2018 for antistatic. Wool is naturally flame resistant and will not melt, so it does not fuse to the skin the way a synthetic sock can. Elastic at the ankle and below the knee keeps them sitting where they should through a long day, and the wool keeps wicking moisture away even when you are standing still. Made in Sweden, pre-shrunk and machine washable at 60 degrees.
