BushWear Alternative Christmas Dinner - Part 3

Turkey leftovers... again!

Christmas dinner is over, the feast slept off on the sofa and the extended family have finally left, leaving the entire kitchen to tidy. Dishes aside, what should be done with the mountain of turkey and ham leftovers? This year try something a little more adventurous than sandwiches, try making these delicious turkey and ham burgers. If you only have one or the other then the recipe will still work.

Using a mincer, simply mince the leftover turkey and/or ham into a large bowl and add in our delicious Cranberry and Rosemary seasoning and some water (adjust the amount of seasoning and water accordingly. Remember that the seasoning bag can do up to 5kg of meat, which will require at least 1 pint of water). Stir thoroughly and for best results put back through the mincer to achieve a smooth texture.

With the mince now prepared we need to get the burger press ready. These high quality non-stick burger presses are easy to use and can thump consistent burgers out time and time again. It depends how thick you set the press but as a rough guide, grab a good fist full of mince, form it into a ball and you should get reasonably sized burgers. If you feel you have too many leftovers you can freeze some burgers and it is advisable to use burger papers to stop them sticking together.

The Recommended Burger Press

The Adjustable Burger Press - This heavy duty, non-stick burger press can be adjusted to any thickness from 1/4” to 1”. Makes a large 4.5” diameter patty. Burger press makes perfect, uniform burgers every time.

Or Try Something Completely Different;

If you are feeling really adventurous with the leftovers then try this spin on the burger recipe. Using the Burger Pocket Press (it can also be used to make normal burgers) thump out a hollowed burger and fill the recess with some leftover brie and cranberry sauce. Then using the press again, seal the burger and
enjoy what must be the Ultimate Christmas burger!
