The H&N Slug HP II is a purpose-built airgun slug for hunters and serious shooters running high-power big-bore air rifles in .30 calibre (7.62 mm). Each slug measures .301 in head diameter, weighs 50 grains and is cast from soft lead to a precise 8.3 mm length. The defining feature is H&N's T-Slot hollow point — a two-stage cavity with a shallow upper angle to start deformation immediately on impact and an acute lower angle that sustains it, delivering maximum expansion and energy transfer for a quick, humane kill. With a ballistic coefficient of 0.115 and a recommended minimum muzzle energy of 73.3 ft.lbs, these slugs are designed to perform out to 200 m on quarry ranging from pheasant and duck to roe deer and coyote. The Slug HP II .30 was developed and field-tested in close collaboration with Gerhard, a recognised airgun hunting expert. Each tin contains 80 slugs in H&N's standard screw-top container, keeping projectiles clean and protected between sessions.
