Built with the benchrest shooter in mind, the Caldwell Fire Control Front Rest pairs a massive 15 x 11.5 inch cast iron base with Caldwell's Fire Control system for genuinely precise crosshair alignment. Instead of loosening knobs and repositioning the whole rest to correct your aim, a multi-directional control arm lets you make continuous, one-handed adjustments to windage and elevation with your fingertips, right up to the point the trigger breaks. A machined, hardened-steel gear rack handles coarse elevation adjustment, and the elevation knob locks securely once you're on target. Spiked stainless steel levelling feet keep the whole unit planted on an uneven bench. The rest comes with a filled medium bag that can be swapped for the included three-lobe bag when shooting a wide forend. At around 18lbs, the cast iron base gives the rock-solid stability that serious load development and precision shooting demand, making this a genuine step up from a conventional sandbag-and-rest set-up.
