The Gerber Suspension-NXT in black is the modern evolution of Gerber's original butterfly-opening multi-plier, now carrying 15 tools in a slimmer, lighter frame designed for everyday carry. Needle-nose and regular pliers sit at the core, backed by a wire cutter and a 2.25in fine/serrated combination blade, while the outboard tools — scissors, awl, file, ruler, wire stripper, bottle opener, can opener, a cross driver and large, medium and small flathead drivers — spring open independently of the pliers, so a quick task never means unfolding the whole tool. All outboard tools lock in place, and spring-loaded jaws keep the pliers under control in use. Stainless steel construction keeps it durable, while the design is lighter and slimmer than earlier Suspension models, at 6.7oz (190g) with a 4.25in closed length. A sturdy pocket clip carries it in a trouser pocket or on a belt, ready for anything from fixing a hide gate latch to sorting out snagged tackle in the field.
