The H&N Baracuda 8 is a domed-head airgun pellet in .177 calibre (4.5mm), designed for Field Target and Hunter Field Target competition whilst doubling as a capable round for small game and pest control. Each pellet weighs 0.55g (8.44 grain), making it the lightest in H&N's Baracuda domed-head range and suitable for airguns producing as little as 7.5 joules (around 5.5 ft.lbs) at the muzzle — a useful quality for lower-powered sub-12 ft.lbs springers and PCPs alike. The domed profile gives a consistent ballistic coefficient of 0.026 and is effective to 50 metres. Head size is 4.51mm, which suits the majority of .177 barrels. Each tin contains 500 pellets. H&N produces pellets at their factory in Hann. Münden, Germany, and the Baracuda range is widely used on UK FT and HFT circuits as well as for rabbits, rats, squirrels and pigeon control.
