The H&N Slug HP Heavy is a purpose-built airgun slug for hunters and long-range shooters running high-power PCP rifles. Sitting at the heavier end of the H&N slug range, the 40-grain, .22 calibre (5.51mm) head-size .217" projectile is bullet-shaped rather than the traditional diabolo form, giving it a higher ballistic coefficient for flatter trajectories and improved downrange performance. The defining feature is a large hollow-point meplat machined into soft lead: on impact the slug expands rapidly, maximising energy transfer for a quick and humane kill — critical for airgun hunters pursuing rabbits, corvids and squirrels at distance. Developed in close collaboration with Air Hunter Gerhard, a well-regarded figure in European airgun hunting, the Heavy Slug was tested extensively in real hunting conditions. Supplied in a tin of 120.
