The Hornady CX (Copper alloy eXpanding) is a monolithic, lead-free hunting bullet designed for reloaders seeking deep penetration and controlled expansion on medium to large game. Constructed from a single piece of copper alloy, the CX cannot separate, delivering consistent terminal performance and a minimum of 95% weight retention shot after shot. The Heat Shield tip is moulded from a heat-resistant polymer that resists aerodynamic heating during flight, maintaining a consistently high ballistic coefficient and ensuring uniform meplat geometry from bullet to bullet and lot to lot. Optimum Groove Geometry machined into the shank reduces bearing surface and fouling in the bore, keeping pressure signs low and accuracy consistent over long strings. Fully lead-free in composition, the CX is compliant with California non-lead regulations and is equally well suited to any UK or European jurisdiction that restricts traditional lead-core projectiles. Supplied in boxes of 50, these .224 diameter, 50 grain bullets are sized for .22 centrefire cartridges including .223 Remington, .22-250 Remington and .224 Valkyrie.
