The Hornady InterLock® SP is a 30 calibre (.308") 165-grain soft-point component projectile for handloaders reloading 308 Winchester, 30-06 Springfield and similar 30-calibre centrefire cartridges. The exposed lead soft-point tip delivers controlled expansion and hard-hitting terminal performance on impact, making this bullet well suited to deer stalking and woodland management where reliable energy transfer and a clean kill are the priority. The bullet's inner grooves strategically weaken the upper jacket section to ensure consistent, controlled expansion even at longer range, while the tapered jacket is precisely controlled for reliable expansion across a wide velocity band. A one-piece lead core does not separate as two-piece designs can, and the proprietary InterLock® ring — a raised band embedded in the core — locks core and jacket together during expansion to retain mass and energy for deep penetration and large, consistent wound channels. The secant ogive profile produces low drag, a flat trajectory and excellent accuracy. Sold as component bullets for handloading; no FAC required to purchase bullet heads in the UK.
