The Hornady InterLock RN (Round Nose) in .358 diameter at 200 grains is a component projectile for handloaders working with .35-calibre lever-action and bolt-action rifle cartridges such as .35 Remington and .358 Winchester. It is not loaded ammunition — this is a bare bullet head sold for reloading. The round-nose profile is the traditional choice for tubular-magazine lever-action rifles, providing absolute safety against primer ignition that would be a concern with pointed bullets. Hornady's InterLock ring is a raised internal band embedded in the lead core that mechanically locks it to the gilding-metal jacket during expansion, retaining mass and energy for the deep penetration required on deer, boar, and similarly sized quarry. Inner grooves in the jacket weaken the upper section for consistent, controlled expansion at all engagement distances, while the tapered jacket ensures reliable upset from close-range brush shooting to longer shots across open ground. A cannelure provides a positive case crimp and works alongside the InterLock ring to prevent core-jacket separation. The one-piece lead core, free of the separation issues seen in divided-core designs, delivers large, consistent wound channels for clean, ethical kills.
