The Hornady Custom Grade Full-Length 3-Die Cowboy Set for 44/40 Winchester (.429) is designed for cowboy-action shooters and lever-gun handloaders who work with lead-bullet loads in this classic straight-wall cartridge. The Cowboy die set is configured to handle the softer lead projectiles typical of cowboy-action competition, sizing and seating at pressures and profiles that preserve bullet integrity and avoid deformation. The full-length sizing die restores cases to SAAMI minimum specification, while the expander prepares case mouths for lead bullet seating without excessive belling. The seating die aligns bullet and case in Hornady's In-Line system before the bullet enters the neck, ensuring consistent seating depth. Sure-Loc lock rings grip the full die body for repeatable, tool-friendly set-up. Standard 7/8"-14 thread fits all presses that accept standard dies; no shell holder is included.
