The Hornady Full-Length Size Die for .243 Winchester sizes fired brass to SAAMI minimum specifications, making it suitable for semi-automatic and pump-action rifles as well as bolt-actions where absolute headspace consistency is required. At the heart of the die is Hornady's Elliptical Expander — a machined, tapered expander that enters and exits the case neck in a smooth, progressive motion, reducing friction and case neck stretch compared to conventional ball expanders. Because the expander geometry means you can neck cases up to the next calibre without a separate expander die, it is a genuinely versatile addition to the reloading bench. The Zip Spindle system positively locks the decap-pin assembly to prevent slippage during sizing while allowing quick coarse movement or fine incremental adjustments via light threads on the spindle and lock. The die body features a precision-machined and polished internal profile to prevent case sticking.
