The Hornady Custom Grade Full-Length Size Die for 338 Lapua Magnum (.338) resizes fired brass to SAAMI minimum specifications, keeping cases in spec for precise, repeatable loads in this long-range, large-bore cartridge. Hornady's Elliptical Expander sets this die apart from standard designs: it provides notably smoother neck sizing than a conventional ball expander, reducing friction and case neck stretch while its internal threading holds it securely and eliminates the need for a separate expander die when necking up to a larger calibre. The Elliptical Expander and headed decap pin are paired with the Zip Spindle, a Custom Grade exclusive that locks positively to prevent any movement under load. Fine threads cut on the spindle and spindle lock allow repeatable incremental adjustments, and the spindle can be zipped freely for larger-scale movement. The precision-machined and polished internal profile handles the large 338 Lapua case smoothly, preventing sticking or excessive friction. The Sure-Loc lock ring clamps around the full circumference of the die body; the locking screw applies clamping force without contacting the die threads, and machined wrench flats allow clean removal without risk of damage.
