The Hornady Neck Size Die for 30/30 Short (.308) is a precision reloading tool designed to resize only the neck of fired brass, preserving the fire-formed body shape for improved accuracy and extended case life. At its core is Hornady's removable Elliptical Expander — a significant advance on traditional ball expanders — which delivers exceptionally smooth neck sizing whilst reducing friction and case neck stretch during the decapping stroke. The Elliptical Expander and hardened steel Headed Decap Pin are mounted to a Zip Spindle that locks positively to prevent slippage. Fine threads on both the spindle and spindle lock allow precise incremental adjustment, yet the spindle can be zipped quickly up or down for coarser movement. The die ships with Hornady's Sure-Loc lock ring, which clamps around the full die body to hold position under constant pressure without the locking screw contacting the threads — protecting them from wear. Cut to the industry-standard 7/8"-14 thread, this die fits all standard reloading presses. Neck sizing is particularly suited to bolt-action rifles where brass is fired and reloaded in the same chamber. Made in the USA with a no-risk lifetime warranty.
