The Hornady Neck Turn Mandrel for 17 calibre (.172) is a precision replacement mandrel designed for use with the Hornady Neck Turning Tool. The mandrel is inserted inside the cartridge case neck, where it acts as an internal support while the tool's cutter trims the outside of the neck to a consistent wall thickness. By holding the neck to a precise diameter from the inside, the mandrel ensures the cutter removes material evenly all the way round, producing uniform neck wall thickness and improved concentricity.
