The Hornady Cowboy Seater Die is a handgun reloading die designed specifically for .38 Special and .357 Magnum cases loaded with cast lead bullets, making it a natural choice for cowboy action shooting and lead-bullet pistol reloading. At the heart of the die is Hornady's in-line bullet seating system, which holds the bullet, case neck and seating stem in perfect alignment within a floating sleeve before the bullet enters the case mouth — reducing run-out and promoting consistent overall cartridge length. The built-in crimper means you can seat and apply a roll crimp in a single press stroke, saving a station on progressive or turret presses. A seater adjustment screw with compression lock (o-ring) allows precise depth setting without the die creeping out of position, while the Hornady Sure-Loc lock ring clamps around the full circumference of the die body, tightening without contacting the threads to prevent damage. The locking retainer ring removes in seconds for straightforward disassembly and cleaning. Machined to Hornady's Custom Grade standard, this die is compatible with any standard 7/8-14 reloading press.
