The Hornady Shell Plate #6 is a machined steel rotating plate for the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP progressive press and the Projector press. It mounts to the central indexing platform and carries cartridge cases through every station of the reloading process — sizing, decapping, priming, powder charging, and bullet seating — keeping each case positioned squarely under each die. The shell holder mouths are machined with a subtle radius that lets cases enter and exit cleanly, reducing resistance and the chance of case mouth damage during busy loading sessions. The retainer spring is engineered to stay engaged as you insert cases, so there is no need to hold it aside manually. Shell plates are numbered according to the case-head diameter group they accommodate, and a single plate commonly serves several calibres that share that head size.
