This Game Guard boil and bite gum shield is a self-fit mouthguard supplied here as a bulk pack of ten in clear, making it well suited to clubs, schools and family kit bags. To fit, soften the shield in hot water, then bite down so the thermoplastic moulds around your teeth and gums for a close, retentive hold. The material is latex free, so it suits wearers with a latex sensitivity. Each shield has been tested in accordance with BS DD 258:2001 and is CE compliant, meeting the standard for size, fit, retention and quality, with a level 2 rating for transmitted force under impact testing. Two sizes cover the range: large fits adults and small fits children, so a single pack can equip a mixed group. A gum shield is sensible protection for contact and stick sports such as rugby and hockey, and for any field-sports or country pursuit where a knock to the mouth is a risk. Re-mouldable construction means a shield can be reshaped if the first fit is not quite right.
