The Spypoint IR-8 is a compact infrared trail camera built for keeping an eye on deer and game movement without disturbing the ground. It captures 8.0 megapixel stills in colour by day and black and white by night, powered by 46 infrared LEDs with automatic infrared level adjustment so images stay clear whatever the light. The adjustable detection sensor covers 1.5 to 15 metres, and a multi-shot mode fires up to six images per trigger, each automatically stamped with the date, time, temperature and moon phase for a proper record of activity on the ground. Alongside stills it records 640 x 480 AVI video clips, all stored on an SD/SDHC card up to 32GB, with a built-in colour screen and USB/TV output for reviewing footage on site. Power comes from 6 x AA batteries as standard, with the option to run from a rechargeable lithium pack, solar panel or 12V supply for longer unattended deployment, plus a low battery indicator so you know when it needs attention. A useful bit of kit for scouting stalking ground or monitoring a feeder before you commit to a stalk.
