The Zeiss DTC-A 48 is a dedicated mounting adapter designed to attach the Zeiss DTC 3 thermal clip-on device to a riflescope. The adapter is a two-piece assembly: the DTC-R M52 ring, which is the standard-size bayonet ring that couples to the DTC 3 itself, and the DTC-A 48 adapter ring, which is sized to fit the objective end of the riflescope. The DTC-A 48 variant is suited to Zeiss riflescopes with a 42 mm objective lens — the 48 mm figure refers to the outer thread diameter at the objective end of compatible scopes. Shooters using other brands should verify the outer objective diameter and consult their manufacturer's warranty terms before fitting. Both parts are finished in black and engineered to Zeiss tolerances, giving a firm, play-free connection that does not disturb zero when the DTC 3 is mounted or removed. Note that neither the DTC-R M52 ring nor this DTC-A adapter is included in the DTC 3's standard box — they must be purchased separately to complete the thermal clip-on setup.
