BushWear's rifle barrel threading service is carried out in-store by our experienced staff and covers the precision machining of a rifle barrel muzzle to accept a moderator or other muzzle device. Threading a rifle barrel is a straightforward way to make a centrefire or rimfire rifle moderator-ready, reducing report and muzzle blast without any permanent alteration to the action or stock. Common thread forms used on UK sporting rifles include ½ UNF and M14×1, and our team can advise on the correct specification for your particular firearm before work begins. The service is available from BushWear's gun shop and must be booked in advance; please contact us to confirm availability and to arrange a convenient drop-off time. Once threaded, a thread protector is recommended to guard the crown when the moderator is not fitted — BushWear stocks a wide range to suit the most common thread pitches.
