The Sierra Pro-Hunter 8mm (.323 diameter) 150 grain Spitzer is a flat-base rifle bullet for handloaders, supplied 100 to the box, and is a component projectile only — not loaded ammunition. It pairs Sierra's traditional flat-base accuracy with a custom-tapered jacket designed for controlled expansion and reliable weight retention, giving deep penetration on medium game. At the velocities typical of the 8mm Mauser, this 150 grain Spitzer is a sound, proven choice for roe and similar medium quarry, though Sierra notes it can be too destructive on medium game when driven at the higher velocities of the 8mm Remington Magnum. With a sectional density of 0.205 and a G1 ballistic coefficient of around 0.336 at higher velocities, it holds a flat trajectory and carries energy well downrange. Handloaders should always confirm actual bore diameter before loading, as some older 8mm military rifles use a .318 inch groove diameter rather than .323 inch.
