The Takaje Vacuum Sealing Machine, designed and built in Turin by Tre Spade, is a versatile food-preservation unit that goes well beyond standard bag-sealing. Its patented system lets you re-create a vacuum inside any glass jar with a metal lid, making it equally suited to preserving venison, game fillets and waterfowl as it is to extending the life of chutneys, sauces and jams after opening. The body is constructed from ABS and stainless steel, and the machine offers four operating modes: automatic cycle, manual cycle, jar-vacuum cycle and roll-sealing cycle. The 33 cm sealing bar (3 mm width) delivers a secure, consistent seal across standard embossed bags and vac rolls. A powerful 200 W pump achieves a maximum depression of 800 mbar with a suction rate of 16 litres per minute — among the highest figures available on an external domestic sealer. The inner tray protects the unit from excess liquids, and the removable design makes cleaning straightforward. Compact at 36.5 x 18.5 x 8 cm, the Takaje is supplied with a starter pack of vacuum bags and two jar-sealing caps. Winner of the 2014 Compasso d'Oro, Italy's most prestigious design award.
