The Birchwood Casey AR500 3/8" Round Gong is a 15-inch diameter steel target built for live-fire practice with centrefire rifle and handgun rounds, delivering a solid, audible clang when struck solidly. It's made from 3/8-inch NM500 steel finished in a hi-vis white powder-coat, so hits stay clearly visible at distance and the paint holds up better than bare steel. A double hang hole at the top lets it hang from a stand or frame, and square mounting holes elsewhere on the plate take standard carriage bolts (not included) for a more permanent rig. At 15 inches across, it's one of the larger plates in Birchwood Casey's round gong range — offered from 4 to 15 inches — giving a generous target area that's easier to pick up at longer ranges or when building a multi-plate course. Several of these gongs can be hung together to build a full steel range with targets of different sizes and difficulty. As with any steel target, always check the rated calibre and minimum safe distance for your ammunition, and use proper eye and ear protection when shooting.
