The H&N Slug HP Heavy is a purpose-built airgun slug designed for long-range hunting and target shooting with high-power PCP air rifles. Sized at .218" head diameter in calibre .22 (5.53mm) and weighing 36.0 grains, this heavier variant extends the usable weight range beyond standard H&N slugs, giving PCP shooters greater downrange energy retention and improved stability at extended distances. The defining feature is an oversized hollow-point meplat combined with soft lead alloy, a combination engineered to deliver maximum expansion and rapid energy transfer on impact — ensuring a quick, humane kill when used for airgun hunting. The slug was developed and refined in close collaboration with Air Hunter Gerhard, a recognised authority in competitive airgun hunting and long-range field shooting. Each tin contains 150 slugs, formed to tight dimensional tolerances to deliver consistent grouping straight from the tin. Suited to rifles generating sufficient power to fully stabilise a 36-grain projectile.
